Step 1: Count your entry and exit points

Count every entry point honestly, including ones that feel minor: side doors, fire exits, staff-only entrances, delivery gates. These are exactly the points that get skipped in a rushed installation and become the blind spots that matter later.
Step 2: Map your high-value and high-risk areas
Beyond entry points, identify the specific areas where something valuable sits or where an incident is most likely: a cash counter, a server room, a storeroom, a cash-in-transit handoff point, a high-value shelf or display. Each of these typically needs its own dedicated camera rather than relying on wide general coverage to happen to catch it.

Step 3: Account for outdoor coverage separately
